Jonathan: The photos were taken within Inwood Hill Park. I know. I live opposite the park.

While a park is considered to be green, many, if not most parks contain benches and paved areas. What the author failed to convey is that the expansion of the park will take place on the OTHER side of the retaining wall. There is a retaining wall on 218th Street. Columbia has no plans for the present park as the current IHP is city property. What the author failed to clearly delineate was the difference between the current park and the proposed addition.

Furthermore, this site is run by COLUMBIA graduates students. If you seek objectivity, look elsewhere. However, credit Columbia for even permitting an article that may cause them to be perceived in a negative manner.

The opening photo shows absurd bias. Is Columbia sponsoring this? It is not a 'paved lot'; the benches are on a paved path that borders green sward. The writer shows no objectivity and could well be a paid shill for Columbia's cynical scheme to return city property to city residents in exchange for bringing even more congestion to our otherwise-tranquil neighborhood.
